Welcome aboard, Freshmen, and welcome back, SSCians — kicked off at General Orientation 2025!
Dayun kamu sa SSC! Both returning students and new faces were thrilled to see Siquijor State College come alive once again with energy, passion, and drive as classes officially opened last August 18, 2025, for School Year 2025–2026.
The day started with a traditional flag raising ceremony at the SSC Oval facilitated by the active SSC Student Government, followed by general orientation held at Student’s Center and Covered Court. Students reunite with their classmates, meet new mentors, explore fresh ideas, and chase bigger dreams here in SSC.
In his welcome message, SUC President II Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo reflected: “Today’s General Orientation is a celebration of new beginnings, renewed commitments, and shared aspirations. Our students are here to embark on a new journey of learning. May this School Year 2025–2026 be filled with purpose, excellence, and inspiration for all of us.” He also highlighted the Core Values, Mission, and Vision of SSC.
With warm smiles, the faculty and staff took the stage as they were introduced by their respective departments and units. Students also had the opportunity to raise their questions during the open forum session, making the event more engaging and interactive.
“I feel a little nervous on my first day at Siquijor State College because I don’t know what lies ahead. But I’m also excited for the growth it will bring me both academically and as a future professional.” shared by the BSEd 1st year student, Lady Mer T. Marchan during the event.
This event united new faces and returning students, setting the stage for a year of growth, learning, and new opportunities. With inspiring messages and helpful guidance, students are ready to embrace the journey ahead as their story begins here at SSC.
