SSC Joins the First Presidents’ Summit 2025, Reaffirming Commitment to Quality Education

Siquijor State College took bolder steps with the aims of adapting national and international education standards through its participation in the Presidents’ Summit 2025, organized by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP). The event was held on August 14–15, 2025 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila, with the theme “Quality Assurance and Accreditation: New Framework, New Directions,” the summit set the stage for shaping the future of higher education in the country.


Representing SSC under the leadership of SUC President II, Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo, were Dr. Mary Ann Temprosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Roel D. Taroc, Vice President for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, Monitoring, and Extension (PRIME); Dr. Renalyn B. Bantawig, Director of the Quality Assurance Office and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Mr. Jay Louie L. Jarbonido, PMS Director and Chief of Staff; and Mr. Jull Arcel Orlina, Quality Assurance Officer V.


The two-day gathering brought together presidents and key academic leaders from state universities and colleges (SUCs) nationwide, serving as a vital platform for dialogue, collaboration, and shared commitment to academic excellence.

Representing the voice of innovation and progress, Siquijor State College (SSC) reaffirmed its dedication to quality, transparency, and global competitiveness in delivering higher education. Through its active participation, SSC strengthens its resolve to adapt to new accreditation frameworks and directions, ensuring that its programs remain relevant, future-ready, and globally aligned.

The summit underscored the collective vision of SUCs across the Philippines, to make quality assurance the foundation of innovation, accountability, and excellence in higher education, paving the way for institutions like SSC to better serve communities and the nation.
