SSC and Mano Amiga Academy Join Forces to Empower Future STEM Leaders
As part of its dedicated commitment to equipping STEM students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world, Siquijor State College (SSC) marked a significant milestone through a ceremonial signing held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the SSC Function Room.
Under the leadership of SUC President II, Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo, and Extension Director, Mrs. Philna Palongpalong, SSC formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mano Amiga Academy, Inc. (MAAI), a nonprofit organization committed to youth empowerment through education.

This partnership underscores a shared vision to advance STEM education through the STEM Warriors Club Program, an initiative designed to empower Filipino youth, particularly in the province of Siquijor to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program connects students with industry experts, introduces them to diverse career pathways, and enhances their science communication skills.

“We are currently facing the challenge of having a limited number of teachers qualified to handle STEM classes. Through this partnership, we hope to inspire more students to pursue Education majors in Science and eventually become future STEM educators.”, reflected by Dr. Sumaylo.
The STEM Link Up initiative reflects both institutions’ dedication to fostering inclusive, transformative, and future-ready learning experiences that drive innovation and create meaningful community impact.
