Numerical Nexus Club Represents SSC with Distinction in the First MSP-NIR Research Congress and Convention

Mathematics instructors and student-members of Numerical Nexus Club (NNC) of Siquijor State College–College of Teacher Education proved that their passion for mathematics goes beyond the four corners of the classroom as they actively took part in the First Mathematical Society of the Philippines – Negros Island Region (MSP-NIR) Research Congress and Convention under the theme: “Numbers, Insights, and Rigor: Building a Mathematics-Driven Future for the Negros Island Region.” held at Silliman University on September 24–25, 2025.

The two-day event was organized by the MSP-NIR chapter which is noted as the youngest chapter of the MSP. MSP President, Dr. Editha C. Jose shared the important insights as she served as the plenary speaker of the event.

The event also included research presentations and academic exchange among participating colleges and universities. Representing NNC-SSC with their research were President Jomary A. Samson, Treasurer Shekinah Grace O. Perez, 4th Year Representative Iverkyle Frienz Briones, and member Mikerdy Albon. They were strongly guided and supported by their research advisors, Mr. Peter Boncales and Mr. Jason Deputado.

The team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Siquijor State College under the leadership of SUC President II, Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo and the College of Teacher Education led by Dr. Rosalina E. Catid, Dean of College of Teacher Education  for strong support and for giving them the opportunity to represent the college in this significant event.

Through their active participation in the First MSP-NIR Research Congress, the Numerical Nexus Club of Siquijor State College showcased their skills and passion for mathematics. Moreover, they strengthened their commitment to research, collaboration, and academic excellence bringing pride to SSC and inspiration to future generations of math enthusiasts.
