Hope on Screen: SSC Wins at PelikulAgraryo 2025
Among ten outstanding entries from across Central Visayas, the Development Communication students of Siquijor State College (SSC) earned the distinction of 3rd Runner-Up for Best Film at the DAR Regional Film Festival: PelikulAgraryo 2025, held on June 24 at the Golden Prince Hotel & Suites, Cebu City.
Their entry, “Paglaum sa Uma”, produced in partnership with BAFAMCO, compellingly captures the hope, dignity, and perseverance of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries. The film stands as a powerful testament to the students’ commitment to socially relevant storytelling—highlighting the lived experiences and resilient spirit of Filipino farmers.
This recognition underscores the talent, creativity, and dedication of SSC’s Development Communication students, as well as the deep impact of the stories they tell.
