SSC faculty and staff headed by the SUC President II, Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo, gathered at Candau-ay, Dumaguete City, to pay their last respects to Dr. Tirso Tan, the first president of Siquijor State College. The wake was filled with prayers, candles, and quiet conversations as people remembered his life and service.

Many recalled Dr. Tan was a leader with firm discipline and a heartfelt guidance. He was a mentor who helped shape the future of Siquijor State College. His dedication to education and his kindness left a mark on students, teachers, and the community. Stories shared during the wake showed how much he inspired those around him.
