From Negros to Siquijor: USLS and SSC Unite for Shared Learning and Leadership

Hooray! Siquijor State College proudly meets USLS! As part of their Negros Island Tour 2025, the University of St. La Salle (USLS) group visited the island of Siquijor on October 16, 2025 at SSC Convention Center. They headed straight to Siquijor State College (SSC), where they had the chance to meet with the SSC Political Science Department and engage in a meaningful symposium centered on shared insights and academic goals.
The SSC Political Science Department, led by CAS Dean Dr. Renalyn B. Bantawig, PolSci Program Chair, Mrs. Vanessa Jumawan, and Mrs. Marites Cuevas actively joined the exchange of ideas, highlighting the importance of building strong academic linkages and collaboration between institutions.
The group shared their hope that SSC Political Science students could soon join the Federation of Political Science Students Organizations in the Negros Island Region, which includes students from USLS, Silliman University, and Foundation University. The federation was formed through their yearly Negros Island Tour.

The USLS group also paid a courtesy visit to the office of SUC President II, Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo, who warmly welcomed them to the college. Under his leadership, SSC reaffirmed its commitment to fostering partnerships that strengthen academic and cultural ties.

This visit marked the beginning of a stronger partnership between USLS and SSC, paving the way for future collaborations that promote shared learning, cultural exchange, and mutual growth.
