SSC Co-Hosts in International Conference on Science, Technology, and AI, Showcases Research Excellence

Siquijor State College was proudly invited and took part as one of the esteemed partner institutions of the International Conference on Science, Technology and IA Application (ICSTAA 2025) that was hosted by Marinduque State University last September 17-18, 2025, under the theme: “Resilient Innovations Through Multidisciplinary Research: Harnessing Science, Technology, and AI to Address Global Challenges.”

Local and international researchers, education, and professionals come together to share groundbreaking insights, foster collaboration, and promote innovative research across diverse fields such as science technology, artificial intelligence, education, environment, health, agriculture, and governance.

Representing SSC were Dr. Roel Taroc, VP Prime; Dr. Dawn Iris Calibo-Senit, Director of Research; Dr. Ruji P. Medina, SPEAR Director; Mr. Jerome Ruiz, Science Research Analyst; Dr. Liezel E. Pajulas, Associate Instructor IV; Nelson C. Suan Jr., Instructor I,  Mr. Francis Dick S. Paculba, Instructor I, and Mr. Emgi C. Tumapon, third year Electrical Technology student.

Among the notable achievements, Dr.  Roel Taroc, Mr. Emgi C. Tumapon, and Mr. Nelson  C. Suan successfully presented their research. Additionally, Mr. Francis Dick S. Paculba and Mr. Jerome Ruiz were awarded the 2nd Best Paper Award in their respective categories. Dr. Ruji P. Medina stood out as a plenary speaker who delivered an enriching talk that contributed significantly to the event, while Dr. Dawn Iris Calibo-Senit and Dr. Liezel E. Pajulas played a valuable role as a member of the review panel.

Siquijor State College’s active participation in this international conference marks another significant step in its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and research-driven innovation. Under the visionary leadership of SUC President II,  Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo, SSC continues to rise as a dynamic institution that empowers its educators and researchers to engage in global conversations, pursue meaningful collaborations, and contribute solutions to today’s most pressing challenges.
