SSC Joins the 54th Adlaw sa Siquijor Celebration with One Heart
Siquijor’s streets burst with colorful vibrantness as the island proudly honors its heritage during the annual festival of identity during the 54th Adlaw sa Siquijor Grand Parade/Float Contest under the theme: Siquijor, Kalambuan Ipadayon! Held on September 17, 2025, starting at the Siquijor Baywalk and proceeding to the Dogukanan sa Kapitolyo.

Representatives from local and national government units, uniformed personnel, business and private sectors, and the education sector came together to take part in this meaningful celebration. Among them was Siquijor State College, led by SUC President II, Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo.
“Let us join this provincial celebration not as members of different groups, but as one, representing a single agency in unity and support of the province.” Dr. Sumaylo reflected.
Dressed in a forest-inspired palette color polo shirt uniform with caps, SSC faculty and staff proudly marched with the Siquijor crowd as they proudly brought the banner of Siquijor State College into the celebration of the province.

The SSC community, despite the morning heat, wholeheartedly attended the anniversary program held at the Dogukanan sa Kapitolyo. Sun-kissed yet smiling, they stood together, embracing the spirit of unity and shared purpose. They also witnessed the vibrance of the celebration through festive cultural presentations from Siquijor’s six municipalities, highlighted by the six lovely candidates of Miss Siquijor Tourism 2025 (Siquijor Festival Queen).
Siquijor State College continues to uphold its commitment to cultural pride, community involvement, and public service through its active participation in the province-wide celebration. As the province celebrates its identity and progress, SSC stands united with the people of Siquijor in honoring the past, celebrating the present, and building a brighter future together.
