The College of Arts and Sciences held its Criminology Week last September 7-11 2015.
A fire drill started the event wherein the fire Marshall of Larena, facilitated it together with the senior criminology students who showed their expertise in handling fire extinguishers. The students who witnessed gained knowledge on what to do during fire incidents. After the said event, the 1st year Criminology students had their Yaw-Yan under the supervision of Mr. Eric Opaon.
A symposium on September 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm was held at the SSC Audio-Visual Room which ended up the long week celebration wherein Mr. Wilfre Dongon and Ms. Michell Magdali, 3rd year BS Criminology students hosted the said event. It was started with an invocation and was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Dr. Josel B. Mansueto, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences gave her warm welcome address. Shortly after was the introduction of the guest speaker in person of P. / Supt. Crisaleo Tolentino who tactfully shared his knowledge about terrorism with the theme, “Nature and Its Implication to Public Safety” to the Criminology students. After which, questions were entertained during the open forum.
On the other hand, the serious discussion was shifted with an electrifying performance by the 1st year and 2nd year BS Criminology students. The closing remark was given by Mr. Niño Ken Oro which signaled the end of the program.
Indeed, BS Criminology students proved that they do not only conceive bravery but they are also well-rounded students who are globally competitive.
